To provide app functionality, we securely store only what's necessary:

  • Account Information - Email address and display name for authentication and attribution of your contributions.
  • User-Generated Content - Evidence pins, photos, videos, audio recordings, forum posts, and comments you voluntarily submit.
  • Location Data - GPS coordinates for pins and hikes you create. You control what you share publicly.
  • Payment Information - Processed securely through Stripe for Pro subscriptions. We never store your credit card details.

All data is stored securely and used solely to provide app features and improve user experience.

Your Privacy Controls
  • Private Submissions - You can keep evidence pins private, visible only to you or your team.
  • Hide Submitter Email - Option to hide your email from public view on submissions.
  • Private Maps - Create private research maps visible only to invited collaborators.
  • Account Deletion - You can delete your account and all associated data at any time. Delete your account here.
  • Location Permissions - GPS is only used when you explicitly grant permission.

Third-Party Services

  • Map Services - OpenStreetMap data for mapping functionality (no personal data shared).
Children's Privacy

The Bigfoot App is intended for users 13 years and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
