How The Oz Effect Works

The "Oz Effect" is a phenomenon reported by many Bigfoot witnesses — an eerie, sudden drop in all ambient wildlife and environmental sounds just before or during a sighting. This tool calibrates your full ambient baseline — including insects, birds, and wind — then monitors for near-complete silence. Only a true Oz Effect (virtually all sound stopping at once) will trigger a logged event. Normal fluctuations in wildlife noise will not trigger it.

This tool uses a refined anthropological model. While human feet are typically 13-17% of total height, this estimator uses a more conservative range (15-18%) often considered for larger, more robust bipedal primates. A maximum height of 13 feet is applied for plausibility.
